"First 8 miles with good Friend from High School track... A little sub 9:00 per mile. Didn't feel great, tried to drop the hammer but just couldn't get into running fast quickly enough. Ran 7:36,7:34,7:19,6:56,6:43 and because using Map My run last .47 @5:55. Great weather, great signs, enthusiastic crowd, some bands and music. My second half marathon here and I would do again to raise money for Avondale House in Houston!"
"Perfect weather for the run. Challenges & areas for improvement:
- Could have been better hydrated the morning of
- Had calf cramps at mile 6 and 11
- runner's toe nail last mile and a half - resulting in a bloody sock and a bit of pain every step.
Overall, pleased with result, but still aiming for sub 1:30 time."

Unofficial results. First solo half in a while. Great weather. Ankle started acting up at mile 10, and cost me the sub 3-hour time, but oh well! It was beautiful and fun. Great support on the course and lots of spectators.

"Got sick with a cold a week prior, with the worst feeling on Sat, the day before the race. Felt good racing, although obviously not 100% due to sickness. The weather was fantastic - warm, 55F at the beginning of the race (according to the thermometer downtown). Should have worn a T-shirt instead of long-sleeved one."
